Santa Clarita / Antelope Valley : Officers Arrest Man, 32, in Death of His Stepson
The stepfather of a 25-year-old man found dead earlier this week was arrested Wednesday near this tiny community on the southeastern edge of the Antelope Valley, authorities said.
Anthony Phillip Fine, 32, who lived in a trailer with the victim, was arrested about 8 p.m. by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigators, Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Spear said.
The dead man’s name has not been released pending notification of his relatives, Spear said.
Authorities have not determined the cause of death, but Spear said there was a “gunshot-like” wound in the victim’s torso.
Deputies found a gun in the men’s trailer, but authorities do not know if it was involved in the death, Spear said.
California Highway Patrol officers found the body when they investigated a “man down” call about 8 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 238th Street East and Highway 18.
