Basinger, Baldwin Are Married in Ceremony on N.Y. Beach
Kim Basinger married her longtime beau Alec Baldwin on a public beach Thursday night, standing inside a circle of torches and surrounded by friends.
Paul Newman, Billy Joel, Christie Brinkley and Chynna Phillips were among about 100 guests at the ceremony in front of the waterfront estate of fashion designer Josephine Chaus.
Reporters and curiosity-seekers got no closer than 25 feet from a curtain that shielded the wedding. It couldn’t be immediately determined who presided over the ceremony.
Basinger, 39, and Baldwin, 35, walked into a circle of smoothed sand at the water’s edge for the nuptials. Seven minutes later, rose petals flew in the air amid cheers and laughter as the bride and groom kissed. A few years ago, the couple starred together in “The Marrying Man.”
The groom wore a dinner jacket, the bride a long, white gown, and the guests were informally dressed. The reception was held in a tent next to Chaus’ home.
