AFTER THE COURTING: The refurbished Old County Courthouse in Santa Ana is busier than ever these days. It’s becoming popular for weddings and receptions. And film company requests keep coming: Rob Reiner’s new comedy “North” includes a scene shot there, plus two movies-of-the-week to air in the fall. . . . This month, county supervisors relaxed the red tape on serving alcohol there, noting it’s traditional at most receptions.

SOLE MAN: Media worldwide showed President Clinton jogging on his 47th birthday Thursday. But at the Asics Tiger Corp. in Fountain Valley, they weren’t looking at his untanned legs. They were focused on his feet. . . . Clinton was wearing one of the three pairs of size 12 GT-II running shoes the company recently sent him as a gift. “It’s our cult shoe; he’s worn it since he was governor of Arkansas,” a spokeswoman says. “But he also likes a shoe from one of our competitors.”

IN THE FRIDGE: The greatest Laker of all time? Magic? Kareem? Jerry West? Some fans may consider them just the supporting cast for their favorite, Chick Hearn, who’s been broadcasting Laker games since there were real Jurassic parks. Hearn--”This game’s in the refrigerator”--will be honored at the first “Salute to Greatness” celebrity basketball game at UC Irvine’s Bren Events Center on Oct. 2. It’s a cystic fibrosis fund-raiser. . . . Bill Walton will coach one of the celebrity teams. And honorary chairwoman? Another big Laker name: Dyan Cannon.

LITTLE BIRDS: “Sesame Street” is looking for 50 Orange County youngsters to perform at its once-only live show at Orange Coast College Sept. 19. . . . You don’t have to be cute; but it’s a big plus if you can act, dance and sing. You do have to be between 6 and 18. “One mother of a 2-year-old tried to convince me her child could pull it off,” says Gloria DeFore, who’s helping with auditions. They take place at the Jimmie DeFore Dance Center in Costa Mesa today at 1 p.m.
