* * 1/2 Hubert Laws, “My Time Will Come,” MusicMasters. Flutist Laws’ first album in a decade harkens back to his days at CTI. There’s a Don Sebesky-arranged version of “Malaguena” and Chopin’s “Valse” alongside such light fare as the contemporary “Make It Last.” Laws’ tone is as fat and pleasantly breathy as ever, giving the session spark, but more chance-taking is needed.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good, recommended), four stars (excellent).
