Amorously Wins Feature at Del Mar
Amorously took the lead midway through the stretch and went on to win Monday’s $46,000 allowance race at Del Mar by 1 3/4 lengths over 9-10 favorite Miss Dominique.
Amorously, ridden by David Flores, covered one mile in 1:36 1/5 and paid $15, $4.60 and $3.40.
The victory was the fourth in 18 lifetime starts for Amorously and was worth $25,300, increasing the 5-year-old Kentucky-bred daughter of Roberto’s lifetime earnings to $164,950.
Miss Dominique, ridden by Pat Valenzuela, finished three lengths in front of My True Lady and returned $2.80 and $2.60.
My True Lady, a 19-1 shot ridden by Sal Gonzalez Jr., was 2 1/2 lengths ahead of Blonde Fever at the wire and paid $5.20.
