THOUSAND OAKS : Homeless Man Suspect in Church Burglaries
A homeless man accused of breaking into a Thousand Oaks church Saturday is also suspected in a string of church burglaries, authorities said.
Christopher Scott Eason, 23, was caught inside the First Baptist Church at 1:30 a.m. after triggering the church’s alarm system. The church installed the burglar alarm because of four previous break-ins, Pastor Ron Wilson said.
Eason apparently kicked in the doors to steal petty cash, said Sgt. Steven Bourke, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman. Bourke said authorities suspect that Eason is responsible for burglaries at several places of worship around the Conejo Valley.
