Vote on Budget

* I was deeply impressed by the courageous vote supporting the deficit reduction budget bill of the House member Margorie Margolies-Mezvinsky (D-Pa.). Her vote, which may jeopardize her chances for reelection next year (considering that she was elected in a Republican majority district) is in sharp contrast with the negative vote of some veterans and high-ranking Democratic members who voted no with the sole purpose of protecting their chances of reelection with complete disregard of loyalty for their President and party.

* Kudos, Margorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, for casting that decisive vote, in spite of pressure-point crowding by your colleagues.

And I would agree that these politicians who negated your efforts from the side-lines are the same leaders who placed our country in the position we are in now. Why is it that leaders assume that constituents do not recall misinformation and untruths?

* President Clinton has sacrificed many political careers to “win” his battle for an economic plan many people do not even want. I specifically refer to Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky. It is not enough that the President does not care about his own campaign promises, but he also pushes others to break their promises in order to shove higher taxes and increased inflation upon the American people.

I would expect to see the cut-throat, win-at-all-cost attitude in a traditional marketing organization, not in the White House.
