Eastman Kodak Files Anti-Dumping Petition: The request, filed with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the International Trade Commission, seeks to prevent the import of artificially low-priced, color-negative photographic paper from Japan and the Netherlands. In its petition, Kodak said manufacturers in the two countries have exported photographic paper to the United States for sale at prices as low as one-fourth those charged for identical products in their home countries. “We believe that dumping margins approaching 300% constitute an illegal trade practice,” said Robert T. Hamilton, vice president in the United States and Canada for Kodak’s imaging division. “Such pricing practices constrain our ability to make business and technology investments that benefit the photographic industry as well as the retail consumer,” he said.
