GARDEN GROVE : Principal to Lead School Association

James Monahan, principal of Hilton D. Bell Intermediate School, has been selected to lead the 130-member Garden Grove School Administrators’ Assn. this year.

A graduate of Rancho Alamitos High School, Monahan joined the district staff in 1970 as a teacher at James Irvine Intermediate School, and since has worked at Bolsa Grande, La Quinta and Santiago high schools. He has been in his current position at Bell since 1991.

The other Garden Grove School Administrators’ Assn. officers for 1993-94 are: James DeLong, director of the Lincoln Education Center, president-elect; Kathleen Barrett, Ethel M. Evans Elementary School principal, vice president; James Benes, Rosita Elementary School principal, treasurer; and Kathleen Roes, James Monroe Elementary School principal, treasurer.
