Arcadia : Talks on Costco Store

The City Council is seeking to make the northeast corner of 2nd Avenue and Santa Clara Street the site of a club membership super store. In closed session Tuesday, the council agreed to begin negotiations to buy the land and begin negotiations with Costco. According to city documents, John Bell of Western Security Bank, Emkay Development Co. and officials from the county public works department are taking part in the negotiations.
City officials did not return calls seeking comment on the negotiations.
