Value Books for Tijuana, San Diego

The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau and Tijuana Tourism and Conventions Bureau are offering free coupon booklets for discounts at hotels, tourist attractions and restaurants.

The 84-page “San Diego Visitors Value Pack” booklet includes discounts to such attractions as Sea World, the San Diego Wild Animal Park, San Diego Zoo, Del Mar Fairgrounds, Stephen Birch Aquarium-Museum, San Diego Family Fun Centers in San Diego, Escondido and Vista, Belmont Park, and the Reuben H. Fleet Theater and Science Center.

About 50 hotels offer special rates. Some coupons are only good for Sunday through Thursday nights. Coupons for upgrades are also available. Second nights may be free or 50% off the regular rate. Other perks could include complimentary breakfast and champagne.

Coupons are also available for car as well as bike rentals. In addition, several lines offer harbor and day sailings, including Celebration Cruise Lines, Hornblower Invader Dining Cruises and San Diego Harbor Excursion.

Perks are also offered at several shopping/dining centers, such as Horton Plaza, Bazaar Del Mar Plaza, Seaport Village and San Diego Factory Outlet Center. Special offerings at restaurants may include discounts as well as extra dishes and souvenirs.

Most coupons are good through Dec. 30.

Coupons through the Tijuana Tourism and Conventions Bureau provide discounts primarily at hotels, restaurants and stores. There are 19 coupons in all, with most valid until mid-December or the end of the year.

Participating hotels include the Gran Hotel Tijuana, Lucerna, Radisson Paraiso Tijuana, Country Club and Bugambilias. Among the attractions offering discounts are the Tijuana Cultural Center; Agua Caliente Racetrack; Mundo Divertido, a recreational complex, and the Tijuana Wax Museum.

Restaurants offering discounts include Senor Frog’s, Las Carnes and the Coronet. Budget Rent A Car is also offering a coupon worth 30% off regular rates.
