Kenfil Inc., a Van Nuys computer software distributor, said that difficult economic conditions in the retail personal computer industry contributed to its $662,000 loss in its fiscal fourth quarter that ended June 30. A year earlier, Kenfil had a profit of $13,000.

Its revenue in the latest quarter was $46.9 million, up 20% from $39 million in revenue a year before.

Despite the fourth-quarter loss, Kenfil’s annual profit was up 25% from the previous year, to $1.09 million from $873,000. Its revenue rose 10%, to $184.1 million from $167.5 million.
