THOUSAND OAKS : Woman, 82, Knocked Down in Purse Theft
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies were searching Monday for a man who knocked down an 82-year-old woman and stole her purse outside a Thousand Oaks grocery store before fleeing in a car.
Authorities said the purse-snatching occurred at 6:25 p.m. Sunday outside a supermarket in the 1300 block of North Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks. The victim, a Thousand Oaks resident, was treated by paramedics for cuts and scrapes on her forehead and right hand, deputies said.
The man grabbed the woman’s handbag, which contained about $60, after sneaking up on her from behind. The man then ran to the back of the shopping center and was seen leaving in a car driven by a woman, authorities said.
