John Truscott; Designer Won Oscars for ‘Camelot’

John Truscott, 57, an artist and costume and set designer who won two Oscars for “Camelot” in 1967. An Australian who spent much of his time in Hollywood, he also was former artistic director of Melbourne’s Arts Festival, which he took out of the theater and into the streets. He designed sets for opera, ballet and acting companies around the world and achieved some of his greatest recognition for the interior of the Victorian Arts Center in Melbourne, where he was artist in residence. In Melbourne on Sept. 5 after emergency heart surgery.
