Money Supply Rises: The Federal Reserve Board reported that the measure of the nation’s money supply known as M2 rose in the week ended Sept. 8 to a seasonally adjusted $3.535 trillion, up $13 billion from a revised $3.522 trillion the week before. A broader measure, M3, rose $3 billion to $4.177 trillion from $4.174 trillion. The narrowest measure, M1, rose to $1.103 trillion from $1.098 trillion, for a gain of $5 billion.
