Raymond K. Cheng of San Marino has been appointed by Gov. Pete Wilson to the State Board of Architectural Examiners.

Members do not receive a salary. This appointment does not require Senate confirmation.

Cheng is a member of the Asian advisory council for the California Economic Commission and an honorary director of the Salvation Army. He received a bachelor of science degree in architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1974.

Gwendolyn Wright has been named Duarte Unified School District Teacher of the Year for the 1993-94 school year. She was recognized for her skill and dedication as a teacher in the district.

During Wright’s 11-year career, she has served as a bilingual teacher in grades 1-6, a Miller-Unruh Reading Specialist, and is currently serving as a District Mentor Teacher.

Wright received her bachelor of arts degree from Pacific Oaks College and her master’s degree in education from Cal State Los Angeles.
