Woman Forced Daughter to Have Sex to Secure Drugs

CHICAGO — A mother of eight has been convicted of forcing her 10-year-old daughter to have sex with a man in exchange for drugs, $50 and a pair of sneakers. Circuit Judge Christy Berkos, who heard the case without a jury, returned the verdict Wednesday after closing arguments. Patricia Brown, 33, was found guilty of aggravated criminal sexual assault. Sentencing was set for Oct. 22.
