PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Bye Gives Players the Weekend Off

Share

The Raiders will work out this morning for two hours before taking the weekend off because they do not play Sunday. Over the last three seasons, the Raiders have a 1-2 record after a bye week, including last year’s 31-10 loss to Philadelphia. The Raiders will play at Kansas City on Oct. 3. . . . Running back Nick Bell is closer to full speed, but said that the key for him is to get back into shape after missing the last three weeks because of a hamstring injury. Offensive tackle Bruce Wilkerson, who has missed the last two games because of a knee injury, also practiced, along with wide receiver/kick returner Rocket Ismail, who had been sidelined because of a back injury.

With a 2-1 record, the Raiders are tied for first place in the AFC West with Denver, Kansas City and San Diego.

One positive for the Raiders is that their loss was against Cleveland, an AFC Central team. The other teams tied for first have lost to AFC West opponents.
