Any doubts that Los Alamitos deserves the No. 1 ranking in the county should have been erased with a 42-0 dismantling of Marina Thursday at Long Beach Veterans Stadium.

Griffin running back Enrique Bozman ripped through the Viking defense, scoring two touchdowns on his first four carries, and finished with 181 yards rushing and three touchdowns in 13 carries to lead Los Alamitos (3-0).

The Griffins defense posted its third consecutive shutout, limiting Marina (1-2) to a net loss of 58 yards rushing. Defensive tackles Robert Torres and Steve Trammell led the Los Alamitos defense, which recorded four sacks and recovered two fumbles.

“It was a good proving point for us tonight,” Los Alamitos Coach John Barnes said. “We played well against a good football team tonight.”

Los Alamitos quarterback Mike Good finished with a solid night, completing 11 of 17 passes for 133 yards and three touchdowns.

Los Alamitos scored on its first three possessions. Bozman scored on two draw plays, racing 31 yards and 73 yards for touchdowns to give the Griffins a 14-0 lead.

After recovering a fumble deep in Marina territory, Good completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to Brad Melsby and Jeff Kolasa’s conversion made it 21-0 with 3 minutes 16 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

Bozman scored on a seven-yard run late in the second quarter, and Good added two touchdown passes to Tony Hartley and Mike McCullough for insurance in the third quarter.

Travis Anderson completed 15 of 20 passes for 148 yards to lead Marina.
