ECHO PARK : History Plays Host on 15-Home Tour
- Share via
Residents of historic Angelino Heights will open their Victorian and Edwardian homes to the public during neighborhood walking tours Saturday and Sunday
Visitors may feel as if they have stepped back 100 years as they view the 15 restored homes on East and West Kensington roads, Douglas Street, Edgeware Road, Ridge Way and Kellam, Carroll, Calumet and Bellevue avenues.
Homeowners and docents dressed in period costumes will provide historical information. A street festival with a country fair flavor will feature entertainment, food sales, exhibits and demonstrations, including kite-making and marble-playing for children.
The homes will be open for viewing, by ticket only, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Tickets are $15 per person in advance through the Angelino Heights Community Organization, or $20 during the event at the community’s vintage fire station at 534 E. Edgeware Road.
Information: (213) 250-2225.
