Mascot ‘Choice’ Really Wasn’t One
The Administration of Mission Viejo High School thinks that they are being “democratic” by allowing the students to vote on their own mascot. However, being forced to choose from mascots that we do not like is no choice at all. The only election that should have been held was to decide whether on not the students wanted “El Diablo” as their mascot.
If the Administration had the chutzpah to stand for its students, there would never have been a debate about the moral sanctity of our mascot. Unfortunately, they do not, and we are still fighting over a stupid symbol.
