Man Dies in House Destroyed by Fire
An unidentified Glendale man was killed Friday night in a fire that destroyed a single-story house, authorities said.
About 28 firefighters responded to the blaze in the 1700 block of Camulos Avenue shortly before 11 p.m., according to Don Wise, a Glendale Fire Department spokesman.
Flames and smoke were pouring out of windows in the house when firefighters arrived, he said. Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 10 minutes.
The charred body of an unidentified male was found as firefighters sifted through the charred rubble, Wise said. The fire, he added, is being investigated as a suspicious blaze.
Damage to property and the structure was estimated at $80,000.
