Music: The Hughes brothers, who directed the critically acclaimed urban film “Menace II Society,” will launch the Underworld Records label as part of a deal with Capitol Records. Under the agreement, twin brothers Allen and Albert Hughes and partner Darryl Porter will develop new artists for the label as well as create soundtracks tied to their upcoming films for Caravan Pictures, which is based at Walt Disney Studios. The brothers also plan to direct music videos--which is how they got their start professionally--for Capitol and Underworld artists. Capitol said that signing the brothers was part of a larger effort on the part of the company to recruit progressive black artists.
