COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Titan Women End Losing Streak

The Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team stopped a five-game losing streak by beating Cal Baptist, 2-1, in a nonconference game Wednesday at Titan Stadium.

Juli Willwerth scored the tying goal late in the first half and Carol Hipp scored the winner 12 minutes into the second half for the Titans (2-6-1).

Cal Baptist took a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick by Audra Nelson at 24:54 of the first half.


In Big West Conference women's volleyball:

Long Beach State 3, UC Irvine 0--Danielle Scott had 21 kills for the second-ranked 49ers (13-1, 7-0), who won, 15-7, 15-8, 15-10. Popi Edwards and Alison Bantel each had 12 kills for UCI (9-7, 5-4).


In nonconference volleyball:

The Master's 3, Southern California College 1--Wendy Jones had 16 kills as The Master's (21-7) won, 7-15, 15-11, 15-12, 15-7. Celeste Young had 13 kills for SCC (6-10), which led, 14-2, at one point in the first game.
