United Artists Names Jeff Kleeman as Production VP

United Artists Pictures named Jeff Kleeman vice president of production.

Kleeman formerly was president of production at American Zeotrope, developing and producing movie and television projects for Francis Ford Coppola.

Kleeman also worked as associate producer on the upcoming film “Frankenstein.”

Kleeman will work for John Calley, a former Warner Bros. executive who has been hired to jump-start UA for parent Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.

* KMEX-TV named Kenneth C. Hansely research manager for the station and Mario Mendoza as local sales manager.

* Lawrence Lyttle has been named president of Spelling Television Inc.

A former ICM agent, Lyttle previously was at Lorimar, where he had a television production deal with former partner Michael Sullivan. He also has worked at Warner Bros. Television.

* Mara Manus was named senior vice president of production for Trans Pacific Films. The company also promoted Katy Nishida to creative executive.

* Steven E. Glass was named director of special projects at ERG, part of EMI Records Group. * Gerber/ITC Productions named Honi Almond vice president of business affairs.

* Mark Reinhart was named director of international sales administration for the Samuel Goldwyn Co.

* Hanna-Barbera Inc. named David Palmer as director of theatrical marketing and special projects worldwide.
