National League batting champion Andres Galarraga left a Colorado hospital on crutches a day after undergoing surgery on his right knee.
“I feel much better,” Galarraga said. “They cleaned out the knee and told me that everything looks fine.”
It was Galarraga’s second knee operation in three months. The Rockies’ first baseman sprained his knee in a collision while trying to catch a foul ball and spent 24 games on the disabled list.
