COMPTON : 2 Brothers, Sister Sentenced in PCP Trafficking Ring

Two brothers and a sister from a Compton family were sentenced Friday to federal prison terms for their roles in a PCP trafficking ring.

James Cox, 29, and David Cox, 25, each had prior convictions and received the longest sentences. James Cox, who had previously been convicted of a drug charge and of a violent crime, received 30 years to life under federal provisions for career offenders. David Cox received 21 years and 10 months.

Their sister, Jacqueline Cox, 33, was sentenced to 10 years.

According to prosecutors, the three siblings--along with a neighbor--sold 9.2 kilograms of PCP to a confidential informant working with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

“We’re pleased with sentences of this sort,” said Assistant U.S. Atty. Gregory Jessner, who prosecuted the case. “You have harsh punishments for people who have a history of committing crimes.”
