George Bell’s rips at Chicago White Sox Manager Gene Lamont during the American League playoffs might have rekindled unpleasant memories for Atlanta third base coach Jimy Williams, who ultimately lost his job as the Toronto manager after Bell’s frequent protestations of his designated-hitter role.
“I’m here. All that stuff is behind me,” Williams said. “I don’t want to think about it or talk about it.”

Brave first base coach Pat Corrales was fired as the Philadelphia manager with the team in first place in 1983, but said he holds no grudges.
“If I held a grudge against every team I worked for, there wouldn’t be any left,” said Corrales, who played for the Phillies, Cardinals, Reds and Padres, and also managed Texas and Cleveland.
