State Officials Plan Far East Trade Mission: Gov. Pete Wilson will lead the two-week mission to the region in November to drum up business for California and its exports--one of the few bright spots in the state’s economy. Wilson, faulted by some as not being a more aggressive salesman for the state, said in a statement that California is “back in business” since recent pro-business tax and regulatory reforms. The governor, Trade and Commerce Secretary Julie Meier Wright and Food and Agriculture Secretary Henry Voss will leave Nov. 20 for visits to Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.
