A 72-year-old Fullerton woman looking for a mate has sued a dating service after allegedly being paired with men who either were “beyond life expectancy” or a generation too young.

In the lawsuit filed Tuesday, Ethel Ashley alleges that Orly Hadida, the owner of Orly’s Personal Touch Matchmaker, failed to live up a one-year, $10,000 VIP contract to provide her with unlimited referrals to men who made more than $500,000 a year and were marriageable.

The lawsuit, which alleges breach of contract and seeks $200,000 in damages, said Ashley had four dates in five months.

Two of the men “were about 80 years old” and two “were ages 48 and 51 . . . one full generation younger,” the suit contends. Furthermore, the suit alleges, the men were rude, did not make the required salaries or did not have the “promised background and education conducive to pleasant conversation.”

The matchmaker has an office in Newport Beach and others in Southern California.

Hadida, whose matchmaking business has been featured in newspapers and has appeared on television talk shows, declined comment Wednesday. Ashley also could not be reached for comment.
