GOINGS ON : ‘Dracula’ Will Begin Center State Stint : Also on the coastal calendar are the 47th Pismo Beach Clam Festival and Patrick Stewart performing at UC Santa Barbara.

To get you into the Halloween spirit, Theatre Pacifica opens its 1993-94 season tonight with “Dracula.” The show will run through Oct. 29 at the Center Stage Theater. Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursdays to Saturdays, and at 2 and 7 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $10.75 for general admission, $7.75 for seniors, and $5.75 for children ages 12 and younger. Also new on the local stage: Santa Barbara City College’s production of the Tony Award-winning comedy “Lend Me A Tenor.” It will run through Oct. 30 at the college’s Garvin Theatre, at 8 p.m. Thursdays to Saturdays, and at 2 p.m. Sundays. How do you like your literature? Through narration, video, music perhaps? You’ll get all three versions and more, Friday at the Lobero Theatre, during the West Coast premiere of “Horses and Drums.”

The stage performance combines the talents of Michael Blake, author of the novel and screenplay of “Dances with Wolves,” and John Densmore, former drummer for the Doors.

“Horses and Drums” is two one-man shows. Densmore will read from his autobiography “Riders on the Storm,” which tells of his days with the rock group. Blake will read from “Dances with Wolves,” his second novel “Airman Mortensen,” and from his collection of poetry. All the while there will be vocal and instrumental music, and video footage in the background.

“What we’re trying to do is make literature more entertaining for people,” Blake said. “It’s kind of between poetry and song, it’s hard to describe. It’s much more than going to a coffeehouse and hearing a reading . . . We’re trying to create an environment where people have fun and we give them something to think about.”

Time to celebrate seafood at the 47th Annual Pismo Beach Clam Festival, Saturday and Sunday along the Pismo Beach Pier.

On opening day, look for a clam chowder contest, sand sculptures, a clam festival parade, and a Miss Pismo Beach Pageant. On Sunday, the activities will include the Rubber Duckie Regatta, a World’s Worst Poetry Contest, and a clam dig, where guests claim clams for prizes. There will be arts and crafts booths, food booths, and live music throughout.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days (on Saturday there will be a bodyboarding contest beginning at 7 a.m. and a volleyball tournament beginning at 9 a.m.) Admission is $1. Call (800) 443-7778.

British actor Patrick Stewart--known for his Shakespearean work as well as for his portrayal of Capt. Picard on “Star Trek II: The Next Generation”--will give a theatrical analysis of the character Shylock, from “The Merchant of Venice,” Sunday at UC Santa Barbara.

Stewart’s performance is a benefit for ACTER (A Center for Theatre, Education and Research). Headed by UCSB professor Homer Swander, ACTER sends thespians to universities worldwide to perform Shakespeare’s works.

Pucker up . . . and help celebrate the lemon.

On Sunday, the Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce will present Goleta Lemon Festival ’93. The usual festival trimmings--music, fire engine rides, arts and crafts displays, a petting zoo, street entertainers--will all be on hand. Plus, there will be plenty of lemonade and lemon pie. They’ve performed in Rome, before the Pope. They’ve starred in a Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial. And on Sunday, the Costa Mesa-based All-American Boys Chorus will make its way to Santa Barbara County. The group will be at Santa Ynez Valley Presbyterian Hall Church in Ballard, for a 6:30 p.m. concert. Preferred tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children. Naa Kahidi Theater, a Native American Theater group, will dramatize ancient Alaskan myths and legends Tuesday and Wednesday at UC Santa Barbara’s Campbell Hall. On Tuesday, the group will present a free mini-performance of short stories, in full costume, for children and adults. The performance will begin at 7 p.m. For Wednesday’s adult-oriented, full-length show, titled “Fires on the Water,” Naa Kahidi will use dance, mime, and narration, to tell these traditional stories. Music Director Heiichiro Ohyama will lead the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra into its 15th season Tuesday at the Lobero Theatre, with the help of clarinet soloist Michael Grego, principal clarinetist of the New Japan Symphony. The program will include Mozart’s “Clarinet Concert in A major,” Richard Strauss’ “Serenade for 13 winds in E flat major,” and Stravinsky’s “Pulcinella Suite.” The concert will begin at 9 p.m. Tickets are $18, $21, and $24.
