LOS ANGELES : Riordan Invites Public to Ride Bikes at Velodrome
Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan will combine his favorite pastime, bicycling, and his favorite issue, public safety, in a public appearance Saturday at the Olympic Velodrome at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Riordan has invited the public to learn to ride on the high-banked track on the Carson campus. He will also speak on his proposal for expanding the Los Angeles Police Department.
The event begins at 9 a.m. and will continue for much of the day with exhibitions and races. The public is invited to bring picnic lunches.
