DOWNTOWN : Forum to Focus on Business in China

Entrepreneurs and corporate executives can learn how to do business in China, the fastest-growing economy in the world, at the China Business Forum at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel Thursday.

The forum will be divided into four sessions: trade opportunities for small- and medium-sized businesses, China’s political and economic climate, finding business partners and working with government officials, and the effects of China’s recent economic and trade developments on government policies in the United States.

Among business and government experts slated to speak are T. Chang, former managing director of McDonald’s Corp.’s China Development; Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan; Lt. Gov. Leo McCarthy, who chairs the California Commission for Economic Development, and Chinese Ambassador Wang Xue Xian.

The forum is scheduled for 3 to 8 p.m. at the hotel, 404 S. Figueroa St. The cost is $55 at the door, $35 prepaid for members of participating organizations and $45 prepaid for non-members with credit cards.
