WEST ADAMS : West Adams Heritage Group Wins Award
The West Adams Heritage Assn. has been named the recipient of the John Anson Ford Award by the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations.
The association was recognized for its efforts to encourage communication among West Adams residents, as well as for its role in adopting community schools, awarding college scholarships to local high school students, sponsoring food and product drives for shelters and AIDS organizations, hosting a yearly ice cream social and initiating historic preservation projects.
The commission gives the award annually to groups and individuals for outstanding volunteer work in human relations, particularly for fostering and improving relations among different ethnic groups.
The award will be presented at the commission’s luncheon Tuesday.
