HUNTINGTON BEACH : Radar Unit Back Up to Speed After Crash

Share

The Police Department has restored to service a mobile radar trailer that sustained more than $4,000 damage in June when it was struck by a car that broke free from another vehicle while being towed.

The trailer, which only recently was repaired, is used to remind drivers of the posted speed limit and to show them what speed they are driving.

Police often enforce speed limits about half a mile beyond where the trailer has been stationed.

If drivers fail to slow to the speed limit as shown by the radar trailer, they risk being issued citations, according to Sgt. Tris Swan.

The trailer will be placed at various locations throughout the city until mid-November.
