LETTERS : Creative Strategies to Improve Education

Share

Congratulations to Paul Cummins of Crossroads School and Beth Ojena of Coeur d’Alene School for conceiving brilliant strategy to helping more children benefit from the superior education available now only to those who can afford it (Times, Oct. 21).

The concept of combining the resources of private and public schools deserves unconditional support. Creative public-private school partnerships like this proposal serve as a model for other schools to emulate. I sincerely hope that the Los Angeles Unified School District grants charter school status to the partnership because creative concepts like this one may be the answer to solving the education crisis in our schools.
