ONE FOR ALL: The board at Rancho Santiago College figures every school needs a motto. And here’s its new one: “A Diverse Learning Community.” Reason: It’s got so many different cultures on campus that Chancellor Vivian Blevins says, “I sometimes refer to us as the Ellis Island for the ‘90s.” . . . Its student population is 29% non-U.S. citizens. It’s also 59% minority, mostly Latinos and Asians. Adds Blevins: “We’re making a public statement acknowledging the cultures and diversity we have.”
