COSTA MESA : Police Earned $94,000 in O.C. Fair Work

The Costa Mesa Police Department earned more than $90,000 from the state this year for helping control traffic during the Orange County Fair.

Under an agreement approved last week by the City Council, the Orange County Fair Board agreed to pay the city up to $112,000 for traffic management during the three-week fair, which was held in July.

The state also agreed to pay up to $10,000 for traffic services during other events held at the fairgrounds throughout the year. According to fair officials, the city has billed the state $94,000 for its services during the fair so far.

The contract, which runs from February to December, is a standard agreement signed each year by city and state officials.
