Beverly Hills : Diner to Pay for Garage Use
- Share via
Larry Parker’s Beverly Hills 24-Hour Diner will be allowed to keep its outdoor dining tables, but will have to pay the city to keep a nearby parking garage open during early morning hours when the garage is normally closed.
Residents who live within 170 feet of the popular Beverly Drive diner said they could not sleep because people were driving through their neighborhood and getting into fights over parking spaces.
The council denied the restaurant’s request to expand its outdoor dining onto the sidewalk.
Council members said they were concerned that the additional tables would push the crowd, which gathers on the sidewalk waiting to get into the diner, out into the street.
A police spokesman said as many as 150 people wait on the sidewalk on Friday and Saturday nights to get into the restaurant.
