Sam Perkins tied an NBA record by making seven of seven from three-point range and scored 28 points to lead the Seattle SuperSonics to a 118-86 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday at Seattle.

Perkins, who did not play in the fourth quarter, tied Portland’s Terry Porter record for consecutive three-pointers, which he set last November. Dale Ellis has Seattle’s record a total of nine.

“I wasn’t really thinking about records or anything like that,” Perkins said. “I was just wide open. It was there and I took it. But I know I’m going to miss a few.”
