A crowd of 150,000 is expected to line Pacific Boulevard today for the 44th annual Christmas Parade, organizers said.

This year’s parade theme is “The World of Christmas,” recognizing that the World Cup Soccer Tournament is being held in the United States, said Dante D’Eramo, executive manager of the local Chamber of Commerce.

The 90-minute spectacle will feature giant helium balloons, floats, equestrian units, marching bands from throughout Southern California and 50 special guests from the sports and media worlds, D’Eramo said.
