Holiday Closings

Thursday is Thanksgiving. The following will be closed in observance of the holiday:

* All city, county and state offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Federal offices will be closed Thursday only.

* County, state and federal courthouses will be closed Thursday. The federal courthouse will accept emergency filings only on Friday.

* City and county libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday.

* Banks and savings and loans will close Thursday. Pomona First Federal Bank also will close Friday.

* Public schools, colleges and universities will be closed Thursday and Friday. The Orange Unified School District also will be closed Wednesday.

* Mail: Mail will not be delivered Thursday. All post offices will be closed, and mail deposited in mailboxes on that day will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.

* Trash: Trash will not be picked up Thursday. Residents with Thursday trash pickups should put their trash out Friday. Those with Friday trash pickups should put their trash out Saturday, with the exceptions of Anaheim, Brea, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Orange, Placentia and Yorba Linda. In those cities, residents with trash pickup Friday should put their trash out as scheduled and allow extra time for delays in pickup.

* Buses: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on a limited holiday schedule Thursday. Limited Dial-a-Ride and car-pool services also will be available. Regular services resume Friday. Call (800) 636-RIDE for more information.

* Parks: All city and county parks will be open during regular hours Thursday.
