Controlled Burn Slated in Canyon
AGOURA —
Cheeseboro Canyon will be closed to the public today so the National Park Service can conduct a controlled burn there, the agency announced Tuesday.
The service will burn 450 acres of dry brush that could otherwise fuel wildfires in the area, a Park Service statement said. Residents of the Agoura area should keep their windows and doors closed during the day to prevent wind-borne ashes from drifting in, the Park Service advised.
The burn will begin at 7 a.m.
