400 Turkeys Given to Needy Families
Suburban Water Systems donated nearly 400 turkeys to local organizations Tuesday as part of “Operation Gobble,” a statewide program co-sponsored by the California Water Assn. to provide holiday food to needy senior citizens and families.
Some of the turkeys were given to senior clients of the South Whittier Senior Nutrition Site, 13201 E. Meyer Road. Others receiving turkeys included East Whittier Middle School and Lutheran Social Services.
Suburban Water Systems, which serves more than 65,000 residences and businesses in the Whittier, La Mirada and San Gabriel Valley areas, has been part of “Operation Gobble” for three years.
