SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

After a fourth attack on a female jogger in Wilderness Glen Park, sheriff’s deputies Friday warned women not to run alone in the thickly vegetated area.

“All of these assaults have taken place just as it gets dark or a little bit afterward,” Garner said. “If females are down there jogging, they should be with a partner, particularly at Wilderness Glen, where you can’t be seen from the street.”

The latest attack occurred about 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 11, deputies said.

A 45-year-old woman was running alone in a secluded area of the park, which is at the intersection of Los Alisos Boulevard and Entidad, when a man attacked her. Garner said he grabbed her and tried to pull her deeper into the underbrush.

The struggle was spotted by another female jogger who yelled at the attacker. The man fled.

The same man is suspected in three other assaults, which occurred last year during sunset or daybreak, Garner said. The victims were all jogging alone in the park.

The attacker was described as 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds with short dark hair and a muscular build. During the most recent attack, he wore a yellow shirt and dark pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Dave Remender or Investigator Mark Simon at (714) 647-7419.
