HOLLYWOOD PARK : Tempest Dancer Wins Feature by 3 Lengths
Tempest Dancer ran down Sangre Fria in mid-stretch and pulled away to a three-length victory Wednesday in the $33,000 allowance feature at Hollywood Park.
Ridden by Chris McCarron, Tempest Dancer covered 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:14 2/5. The 3-year-old Kentucky-bred paid $4.40, $3 and $2.60 as the 6-5 favorite in the field of six older fillies and mares. She carried 115 pounds.
Sangre Fria returned $3.60 and $2.80, and Cherry A La Mode was another 5 1/2 lengths back in third and paid $3 to show.
The victory, worth $18,100, increased Tempest Dancer’s career earnings to $51,800, with three victories in four starts.
