ABC Gives West Coast the Big Ten, not Big Game
ABC is planning to show Penn State-Michigan State on the West Coast Saturday at 9 a.m., instead of the Florida State-Florida game.
Florida State-Florida won’t be offered here even on pay-per-view.
An ABC spokesman said Wednesday that the network would show the Big Ten game in Pacific 10 areas because of the Rose Bowl tie-in between the conferences. However, Penn State-Michigan State has no bearing on the Rose Bowl. The winner may go to the Florida Citrus Bowl, but not the Rose Bowl.
The Florida State-Florida game, which figures to have a bearing on the national championship, won’t be offered on pay-per-view, the ABC spokesman said, because at the start of the season the pay-per-view schedule was set to conclude on Nov. 20 and it is too late to change that.
The Florida State-Florida game will be broadcast on radio by KMPC.
