OXNARD : Man Suffers Heart Attack Aboard Ship
A Wisconsin man was airlifted to an Oxnard hospital Thursday after he had a heart attack on a cruise ship off Santa Cruz Island.
Lawrence Davis, 45, of Mequon, Wis., was in serious condition in the coronary care unit of St. John’s Regional Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The Coast Guard’s Long Beach station was called about 10:30 a.m. Thursday after Davis had the attack aboard the Viking Serenade cruise ship. A Coast Guard helicopter took the ailing passenger from the ship to Oxnard.
The Viking Serenade was on an excursion from Ensenada, Mexico, and is scheduled to dock at San Pedro today.
