Deadline Extended to Fill Committees

Share

Because only five Burbank residents have applied for a group of committees that will tackle long-range planning issues, the City Council has extended the deadline.

The city is looking for residents, business owners and representatives of the Burbank Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Realtors to join four groups to be jointly known as the Burbank Center Plan Citizen Advisory Committees.

The deadline had passed Nov. 16, with only a handful of applications submitted to the city clerk’s office. On Tuesday, the council extended the deadline to Dec. 14.

The committees will deal with long-range planning issues in four adjoining Burbank neighborhoods during the next year.

The Burbank Center planning area is bounded by Burbank, Glenoaks and Victory boulevards and the Glendale city limits.

The committees will tackle a wide range of planning issues, including parking, housing and business issues.

All four committees are to have six members, except for the Lake Street committee, which will have four members. The committee members will not receive pay and must be Burbank residents.
