South Pasadena : Alternatives to 710 Extension
- Share via
People who oppose the proposed extension of the Long Beach Freeway (I-710) will have a chance today to suggest other ways to solve the traffic problems in the western San Gabriel Valley.
Walter Kulash, the engineer who designed an alternative to the 6.2-mile freeway extension for the city of South Pasadena, will make presentations at two workshops. His “multi-mode, low-build” plan emphasizes improvements to local streets, including traffic signal synchronization and the increased use of one-way streets. It also calls for a limited extension of the Long Beach Freeway. Kulash will be seeking new ideas from the public as well.
The workshops will be from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 10 p.m. Both will be at the South Pasadena Public Library’s community room, 1115 El Centro St.
